History of Naval

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Naval history is the area of military narration about war at sea and the subject is also a sub-discipline of the broad field of marine history.Usually, the focus has been on through battle between ships at sea, rather than the use of ships to transfer armies or armed supplies, although often naval policy hinges on the need to protect transport shipping. New writing in naval record has expanded the scope of the subject to include the full range of issues related with navies, including matters of technology, finance, bureaucracy, social history, shipbuilding, supply, and logistics.

Naval history is of special importance not only because of the value of learning how societies of the past dealt with the twice challenge of human enemies and the cruel sea, but also because ships were the first knowledge to enable a global development. In the days before radio, naval officers at remote locations were frequently called upon to single-handedly decide the fates of their nations.
